“hey Sarah um just following up on the numbers can we move the review to Thursday afternoon”
Hi Sarah — just following up on the numbers. Could we move our review to Thursday afternoon?
One shortcut. The Mac app where your cursor is.
Typing records your words.
Nimva writes them on this Mac.
local dictation, no word cap
shortcut, in the app you are using
From a thought to a first draft
A little messy in.
A lot clearer out.
“hey Sarah um can we move the review to Thursday actually Thursday afternoon and I’ll send the numbers before then”
Hi Sarah,
Could we move our review to Thursday afternoon? I’ll send the numbers beforehand.
Thanks!
- 01 Speak
- 02 Shape
- 03 Send
Your day.
In your words.
Say the thing.
Send the email.
The first draft starts with your voice.
Follow the thought.
Find the shape.
Give the blank page a place to begin.
A simpler first experience
Make the first minute feel effortless.
- Start with one useful action.
- Let people try before explaining.
- Keep the next step obvious.
It hears the messy part.
You send the good part.
Local cleanup removes fillers and repeats before the text is inserted. You choose how much. There is no separate cleanup app to open.
Fluency, on this Mac
Balanced and polished cleanup can drop “ums,” repeats, and false starts. Literal mode keeps them. Your voice stays yours.
Formatting for the app in front
Mail, Outlook, Messages, and Teams get a matching layout on this Mac. You can still review it. It is formatting, not a cloud rewrite of your meaning.
Names you actually use
Add people, products, and acronyms to a personal dictionary on this Mac. Names stay yours. Nimva does not send that list to a cloud to learn them.

Built for thought-speed
Stay in the idea.
Skip the keyboard.
From a two-line reply to a full first draft, your voice keeps momentum alive.
Press. Speak. Done.
Nothing new to learn. Nothing else to open.
Press the Option key
Right Option starts and stops dictation. Your cursor stays in the app you were using.
Speak naturally
Pause and continue. Speech is transcribed on this Mac.
Text is inserted
When Accessibility allows it, the local transcript is inserted. You can still copy it.
Your voice belongs to you.
The shortcut never sends microphone audio. Recognition runs on this Mac. An account is used to check your license, not to receive your voice.
- ✓ Dictation audio stays on this Mac
- ✓ Nimva does not sell audio or train on it
- ✓ History stays local. Pause or clear it any time
Local speech. Unlimited use. Your cursor stays put.
Nimva is for people who want dictation on the Mac they already use, without sending the microphone audio away to be recognized. Local vs cloud dictation.
Speech stays here
The hotkey uses local Whisper. Audio is not uploaded for recognition. Sign-in checks the license only.
No word meter
Unlimited means no weekly word cap and no minute meter. Recognition cost stays on your Mac, not on a Nimva invoice for tokens.
Write where you are
Press the shortcut in the app you are already using. Text is inserted when Accessibility allows it.
It says which language it heard.
Automatic detects Hindi, Chinese, French, and other spoken languages, then writes English unless you change that. English stays the default. It is not locked in.
Detect
Speak Hindi, Chinese, French, or another language. Nimva names what it detected.
Write English by default
A Hindi take can say “Hindi detected. Translating to English.” You always see the choice that was used.
Change the written language
Keep the spoken language, or write French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hindi, or Hinglish. We do not claim 100 languages.
Choose how you start.

Does Nimva work across my Mac apps?+
In most Mac text fields, yes, when Accessibility permission is granted. The shortcut inserts the local transcript into the app that had focus when you started. Some apps and secure fields will not accept insertion. You can still copy the text.
Does the shortcut send my audio anywhere?+
No. Microphone audio used for dictation is transcribed on this Mac. It is not uploaded to Nimva for recognition. Sign-in uses the network only to check your license.
Does it only transcribe exactly what I say?+
By default it inserts the local transcript. You can keep it literal, or use balanced or polished cleanup to drop common fillers and repeats. That cleanup runs on this Mac. It does not rewrite your meaning unless you later choose Rewrite with your model.
Can I use it offline?+
Yes, after the speech model is installed. Dictation does not need a network. A license may still need an occasional online check after the offline grace period.
What languages does it support?+
English is the default written language, and you can change it. Automatic names the spoken language, including Hindi and Chinese, then writes the language you chose. You can also pick French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hindi, or Hinglish. Quality varies. We do not claim support for 100 languages. Translation into a language other than English stays on this Mac and is not faked if it is unavailable.
What is rewrite with my own key?+
It is off until you turn it on in Preferences. It is a separate action after local dictation. Only the transcript text is sent, and only directly from your Mac to the provider you choose. Your API key stays in the macOS Keychain. Nimva, Supabase, and Stripe never receive that key. Nimva does not bill those tokens.
What does unlimited include?+
Unlimited means no word cap and no minute meter on local dictation. It does not mean Nimva pays for a cloud language model. If you use your own key for rewrite, that provider bills you, not Nimva.
Will it learn names and specialist terms?+
You can add people, products, acronyms, and terms to a personal dictionary stored on this Mac. It does not learn them from the cloud.
How does the 7-day trial and founder pricing work?+
Sign in for a one-time 7-day no-card trial in the app. Monthly and Yearly charge at Checkout when you subscribe (no Stripe free week). Founder Pass: during the no-card trial, a 7-day intro with $0 due that day then C$65 on day 7; after the trial, C$65 is due at Checkout. It covers 6 months. After that, founders continue at C$65/year, or they can switch to C$7/month if they do not want the yearly plan. The Founder Pass is not charged again. Everyone else pays C$12 a month or C$115 a year. Cancel any time before the next charge. Access continues until the period ends. Tax is extra and shown at checkout.
