Speech recognition that stays on your Mac.
Nimva turns speech into text in the Mac app where your cursor is. Recognition runs on this Mac. The shortcut does not upload your audio for recognition.

Nimva is on-device Mac dictation: speech recognition runs on your Mac, and microphone audio used for dictation is not uploaded to Nimva for recognition. You speak into the app where your cursor is; text is inserted when Accessibility allows it.
What stays on this Mac
- Speech recognition for the dictation shortcut
- Optional cleanup (literal, balanced, polished)
- Personal dictionary entries you add
- Local history you can pause or clear
What uses the network
Sign-in and license checks use the network. Optional “rewrite with your own key” sends transcript text only to the provider you choose, and only when you turn that feature on.
Languages
English is the quality we stand behind first. Other written languages are available; quality varies. We do not claim support for 100 languages.
